Science Scholar Program Details

The Science Scholar Program, which is special to our school and started with the approval of the Board of Education of the Ministry of Education,has been offered to the promising and high-achieving students since September 2007 at our school. It is considered highly demanding among all the other programs. This is an Honors Program designed for the students who want to become individuals that are always in pursuit of questioning, research and being productive. Thus, students who want to enrol in this program should have high academic qualifications to do research and practice.

Moreover, it is a specialized program with enhanced topics in Science and Mathematics. It also includes obligations like making additional experiments, preparing an innovative project, and conducting research, some of which are used for applying to national contests like TÜBİTAK (the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) research projects contest for high school students.

To be able to be eligible for the Science Scholar Program, students must get high scores from the national high school entrance examination which is applied to nearly one million 8th grade students in Turkey and they should also be successful in the selection exam specifically designed by TED Ankara College. Thus, highly-motivated, successful and honored students are selected (approximately top 10% of our school) to participate in the mentioned program.

The curriculum of the Science Scholar Program is highly advanced and includes college-level topics in addition to the standardized topics of the national curriculum. Since the students following this program follow a rigorous course content, they are likely to reach the highest bands in the international exams such as SAT, ACT, AP Calculus BC, AP Physics 1 and 2, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Biology and AP Chemistry.
