International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), headquartered in Geneva, is a pre-university, two-year comprehensive program for students aged 16–19. Offering a bilingual diploma, the IBDP is implemented in 5,400 schools across 159 countries.
The IB program aims to nurture inquisitive, knowledgeable, and compassionate young people who contribute to a more peaceful world by promoting intercultural understanding and respect.
Encouraging attributes such as inquiry, knowledge, critical thinking, communication, principled behavior, open-mindedness, empathy, risk-taking, balance, and reflection, the IB Program is more than just a learning style; it represents a way of life.
The IBDP not only focuses on academic success but also aims to develop students who are self-disciplined, possess advanced thinking skills, embrace lifelong learning, are aware of their social responsibilities, and are “global citizens” who understand and appreciate diverse cultures. IBDP graduates may benefit from horizontal transfer opportunities and scholarships ranging from 25% to 75% at private universities in Türkiye, depending on their diploma scores.
The IB Diploma Program, structured to complement the National Education curriculum, includes six core subject groups, each offering a range of options, depicted schematically by a circular model.
